IT Service Management

GENY offers a comprehensive training program in IT Service Management that includes: IT Service, Unix Administration Storage, and Security and Availability Management.
This career-oriented program enables students to explore advances in technology that will prepare them for their prospective careers.

  • A+ PC Technician


    This course provides hands-on training in repairing PC hardware, installing operating systems and setting up basic network configurations.
    Students are required to spend lab hours practicing troubleshooting techniques.

  • Introduction to IT Service Management

    This course will introduce students to service processes and implementation strategies such as ITIL and will cover pertinent concepts through practice scenarios like: service desk, problem management, configuration, release management, service level availability management, capacity management, continuity and security.

     
  • Network & Systems Engineering

    This course introduces basic concepts on LAN, WAN cabling, Ethernet technology, TCP/IP protocol, IP addresses, routing protocols, troubleshooting, installation of Windows servers and an overview of AIX Unix. Students will also learn Unix basic and editor command, tools, package and device management.

  • IT Storage Management featuring IBM Tivoli

    This course introduces storage basics, features and types while covering topics such as SAN, disk technologies, SCSI, fiber channels, as well as zoning and multi-pathing. Students will learn these concepts using Tivoli Storage Manager's features. Students are required to spend lab hours practicing on TSM.

  • Project Management

    This course will train students to develop skills on planning, monitoring, identifying and resolving multiple tasks to successfully manage projects. Students will learn and develop various tools and techniques while conducting mini projects.

  • Database Management

    This course will train students to use SQL, XML, design and access control, as well as database usage in Internet applications in order to efficiently manage a database for an enterprise.
